FAQ

Can any organization join?

Yes! If your organization reviews and approves the Organizing Statement and fills out the Coalition Partner Invitation, then you can officially endorse the Campaign for a Nuclear Weapons Free World. We encourage all types of organizations to join us, including civic groups, labor, faith groups, and more.

Can individuals join?

Yes! Whether you are an experienced or budding anti-nuclear weapons organizer, if you are ready to take your advocacy to a new level then we welcome you. But please note, this will be much more than just signing a petition or sending an email to Congress (though those things are really important too). Sign up if you are interested in leading organizing and advocating efforts on nuclear weapons policy in your community, and we'll give you the tools to make it happen. If this doesn't sound like you, please join the email list of any one of our amazing coalition partners to get involved.

Is this an international organization?

No. We advocate for a multilateral, global policy to eliminate nuclear weapons. Our work focuses on the United States because our nation has a special role to play, and we have important influence over the government as residents of the US. (Though several of our partner organizations are global in reach, or are based outside the US.) America should be at the forefront of efforts to reduce the number of nuclear weapons in the world as quickly as possible, and in the process keep weapons materials out of the hands of terrorists. We can make America safer and help restore America’s moral authority by taking the lead in global efforts to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons. Practicing what we preach, by ending our own plans to produce new nuclear weapons, is an essential step in that direction.
